Donald Blair and Janet McAdams are the possible parents of John Blair. This is our best guess based on data in the OPRs and IGIs and from references in John's letters to Robert. In two letters John mentions that "your uncles Duncan and Alexander is both dead." In another letter John mentions that "aunt Elizabeth is on foot but frail" and "aunt Mary houses at New Hous near st. Ninians."

We also know from the letters that John Blair was born in 1720, probably in Kippen, Stirlingshire, Scotland. Considering the birth/christening dates of the children of Donald Blair and Janet McAdams, the location of their births, and the names that correspond with the information in the letters, there is appears to be fair degree of probability that Donald and Janet are the parents of John Blair, my gr-gr-gr-gr grandfather.
