251 HOOKSETT - Mrs. Louise A. (Bean) Towle, 97, of Hooksett Road, died Friday, Dec. 10, 2010, at Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Association Hospice House after a period of failing health.

Born in Meriden on March 2, 1913, Louise was the daughter of Alfred and Mehitable (Hershey) Bean. She spent her early life in Meriden and almost 70 years as a Hooksett resident.

She was the widow of Herbert L. Towle Sr., who died in 1977 and to whom she had been married for 46 years. She leaves four children, Herbert Towle Jr. and his wife, Connie, of Barnstead, Mary Nadeau and her husband, Norman, of Pembroke, Robert Towle and his wife, Germaine, of Gilmanton, and Constance Nepveu of Hooksett; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Lena Gavel of Salem; two brothers, Herbert Bean of St. Cloud, Fla., and Raymond Bean of Springfield, Mass.; and nieces and nephews. Louise was predeceased by a son, Rodney Towle; a daughter, Carolyn Girard; and her son-in-law, Leo Nepveu.

270 James was never married. He was an invalid and mentally weak. He came to this country with Oliver and Mary O'Hara and afterwards strayed off to find some relatives in Canada and probably died there.

271 Jameson was a comfortable farmer. An occasion came which put his religion to the test. Crops failed one year, but as it happened Jameson had a plenty. His family wanted him to keep all they had so as to be sure of enough for themselves to eat and to plant. He gave away half and used only half as much grain for seed as usual and the eyes of the potatoes. The crop was a grand success. 279 Kenneth Gloyne Blair (1882-1952) was an outstanding naturalist, having an intense interest in all aspects of nature. In 1910 he took the post of Assistant in The Natural History Museum, London where his chief area of responsibility was a large part of the Coleoptera Collection. His work on the Coleoptera resulted in a large number of publications. In 1932 he was appointed Deputy Keeper of Entomology. Ill health compelled him to retire in 1943, but he kept his enthusiasm and worked on the fauna of the Isle of Wight.

299 Longtime Tuolumne County resident Charles Eldon Stanbridge died Jan. 9 at a Modesto care center. He was 86.
He was born in San Francisco and lived in Sonora for 40 years.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942-45 as a carpenter's mate in the New Hebrides, an island group in the South Pacific that now forms the nation of Vanuatu, and Guam.

Mr. Stanbridge is survived by his wife of 58 years, Norma Stanbridge of Sonora; a son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Cindy Stanbridge of Sonora; a daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Mike Russell of Valley Home; five grandsons, Bret and Kurt Stanbridge, both of Sonora, and Ryan, Danny and Randy Russell, all of Valley Home; and a great-granddaughter, Kimberly Russell of Valley Home.
