      Your Brothers and sister are all well but for James there is no word from him – since he went to the East Indiens.
      I got a letter from Alexander a littel before I received yours that he was at Portsmouth serving with one doctor Campbeltown who said in his letter he was bein in Glasgow this Spring.

Joseph & Peter Brothers from stirling attended the funeral. Janney your sister stays in the house & wishes to stay she is a poor frail girl
      Your mother died a twelve month some days before your father
