I was born Shona May Blair, in Dunfermline Fife in 1959 and have just begun researching my family tree. Hello, I am researching my Blair Family. We came from Blairgowrie in Perthshire (3 generations of James Blairs going back to 1800) It seems that before that we may have been in Coupar-Angus. These James Blairs were the product of women with the family names Murray, Duffus and Reid. James Reid Blair, my Great Grandfather, moved the family to Manchester at the turn of the 20th Century. I found this tool very useful, however there is an error, you have listed that James McDowell and Nancie Pratt had a daughter that died, but you failed to mention that on August 20, 1896 they had a son that lived, his name was Dean McDowell and he died on July 4, 1989, he was my grandfather.

Still looking for Donald Blair, my biological father. He was born in Penn. in 1929 or 1930 and lived in Albany/ Colonie N.Y. in 1951. My grandmother was a Blair and a very proud one at that. Although her 7 brothers failed to continue the Blair name her and her two sisters were able to contribute to the Blair blood line. Hello, Hope you can help me? I have made several searches via your site (which is very interesting and informative!), but I'm having difficulty locating a certain person. Her name is Elizabeth Blair (below are the details I found on a Liverpool website): "Elizabeth BLAIR, late of 23 Kelvin Grove, Toxteth Park, Liverpool, widow, who died 4th Dec 1890, whose will was proved on 12th May 1891." Her address is an area in Liverpool 8 which is currently threatened with wholesale demolition. Her surname is particularily important, as it is the same surname of our Prime Minister (Tony Blair). I'm trying to find out if Elizabeth is in any way related? This would help our campaign a lot if she was related, as I and others are trying desperately to stop this shameful proposal of demolishing part of our history (and incidentally my own Mother's home - where she has lived for over 50 years!). I have found out that Tony Blair's father's name is Leo Blair and his father was James Blair (James adopted Leo). Hope you can help in some way and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
