Peter¹ Blair (my gr-gr-gr grandfather), son of John Blair and Margaret McLuckie, was born in 1763. According to a letter to my great aunt Winnie he married Elizabeth Bell in June 1788 and was a bottler in Paisley. The letter also give the names and DOB of their 10 children all supposedly born in Paisley.

In the LDS-FHC OPRs I found a marriage of Peter and Elizabeth Bell on Jun 1, 1788 in Kippen, Stirling, which seems to confirm information from family sources. I also found what appears to be 9 of their 10 children.

Considering the dates in the OPRs and the dates in the letter and proximity of above locations to Paisley, I'm reasonably sure these are the same children. I haven't yet found son John in any of the OPRs.

Letters from Peter to his brother Robert in Vermont indicate that up until sometime between 1808 and 1816 he was in Stirlingshire. Letters also indicate that in 1816 he was living in Paisley. This may be the reason that Winnie's letter had the children born in Paisley.

Winnie's letter also contains the many names of Peter's children's wives and children and carries on for several generations. This letter is the primary source of my information on the rest of the family tree on Peter's side of the family.
