Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the
Blair families whose ancestors came mainly from Scotland, England, and
Ireland to America as early as the 1600's. One early progenitor was

immigrated to America; others migrated first to Ireland, and later came
to America. One of the earliest immigrant ancestors was Dr. James Blair,
a graduate of Edinburg University. He was sent as a missionary to the
American Indians, and later founded a college at Williamsburg in 1693,
and the William and Mary College. He and other Blair progenitors settled
in Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina,
Pennsylvania, North and South Carolina. During the 1800's, some also
migrated to Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, and Upper Canada, and to
Kentucky, Missouri, Ohio, Oregon, Tennessee, and Virginia. Some later
descendants also lived in Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia,
Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota,
