The
Blair Memorial : written by, about, and for Blairs and their relations
Blair, Bob (Robert H), Jr.
The Blair family originated in
Scotland and is considered to be one of the older clans in that country.
The first Blair on record appears to have been William de Blair
(ca.1205). The first Blairs to come to America appear to have been
William and Robert Blair who were descendants of a David Blair (bc 1618
in Scotland) who emigrated from Ayrshire to Ulster, Ireland in 1630.
These Blairs arrived in Boston in about 1718. They are considered to be
the progenitors of most of the Blairs presently living throught the
United States.

Blair-Burford
Family Bible Records, 1782-1867
Alfred Blair (b. 1793) and his wife,
Mildred G. Blair (b. 1793), probably had eight children, 1816-1833.
There were three more Blair children born, 1845-1848 [children of a
second wife?]. His son, George W. Blair (1828-1857), and Ann H. Lewis
(1821-1852) were married in 1848. They had three children, 1849-1852.
Ten children were born in the Burford family, 1782-1805: Daniel Burford,
1782; Betsey C. Burford, 1785; William T. Burford, 1787; David Burford,
1790; Mildred Burford, 1793; Jonathan Burford, 1796; Hiram Burford,
1798; Philips G.G. and Mary Burford [twins], 1800; Mahala H.C Burford,
1802-1802; and Rebecca H.H.C. Burford, 1805. The connection between the
Blair and Burford families is not apparent.
