John Yates, Sr. (1615-1664?) was born
in Gravesend, England and immigrated to England in about 1635. He
settled in Virginia and was the father of five children. One of his
children was John Yates, Jr. (d.1731) who was the father of John Yates
III (1720-1777) who was born in Nanesmond County, Virginia and was the
father of seven children. Some of his descendants of married descendants
of William Blair, Sr. (1750-1789) who was born in Ireland and immigrated
to America and settled in Virginia. Descendants live in Virginia and
other parts of the United States. |

traditionally known as Robert I, immigrated from County Ayr, Scotland to
County Down, Ireland and married Mary Hanna in 1761. They immigrated
after 1768 to York County, Pennsylvania. Descendants and relatives lived
in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Iowa, Montana,
Wyoming, California and elsewhere. |

York. He married 1) Rachel Newton, probably in New York. They had one
daughter, born ca. 1827 in New York. He married 2) Phebe Ann Bultz in
Michigan. They had six children, born 1837-1848, in Michigan. He died in
1875. Descnendants listed lived in Michigan, Indiana, and elsewhere. |
