Blair Genealogy

This site provides information on Blair genealogy in general and the roots and history of my Blair ancestors who emigrated from Scotland to Vermont and New Hampshire in particular. Blair Genealogy consists of the following sections:

• My Blair Family
  My ancestry dates back to Stirlingshire Scotland, in the early 1700s. My earliest confirmed Blair ancestor is John Blair born 1720 in Kippen, Stirlingshire Scotland. The first of our Blairs to come to America was John's son, Robert Blair, who came to Vermont in 1785. His nephew Peter Blair, my gr-gr grandfather came to Vermont in the 1830s. We have found letters from Robert's father, John Blair, and other Blair family members in Scotland to Robert in Vermont, dated between 1786 and 1816.

• Vermont Blairs
  A sub-site of Blair Genealogy, providing information on Blairs of Vermont. This site currently contains Blair census data for 1790 through 1860, Blairs in the Civil War, Blair Vital Records, and Blair Cemetery Information.

• Scotland Blairs
  A sub-site of Blair Genealogy, providing information on Blairs of Scotland. This site currently includes searchable databases containing information on Blairs from the Old Parish Records and the 1841 through 1871 Scotland censuses. These databases contain almost 35,000 Blair records.

• Other Blairs
  This section of Blair Genealogy has been added to the website for those who would like to share their Blair Family Trees with others. If you have a Blair Family Tree or other Blair information you would like to post to the website, please contact the webmaster. Anyone who submits a family tree will be given full credit for their work. Any questions concerning the family information will be directed back to the submitter.

• Related Families
  Other families that are related to my Blair line. Currently includes McLuckie, O'Hara, and Gilfillan families.

• Blair Links
  Links to other BLAIR sites

My ultimate goal is to make Blair Genealogy the most comprehensive website for information on Blairs. But to do this I will need your help. If you have any information on Blairs, such as:
