Alvin Blair had no wife or children. He owned the farm in Wolcot and when he died he left it to Alexander and Rose Blair. Eugene, their son ran it for awhile and then Frank and Ed took over. They bought the farm in So. Burlington and drove the cows from Wolcott to here in the late 20's. In 1931 they lost them all to T.B. and in 1932 Frank Blair bought the farm on the west side of Dorset St. (1725 Dorset).

Alexander appears in the 1900 Chazy, N.Y. census with his parents and a sister, Jenney, born in April, 1884, age 16, and a sister Mable born 11.1885. Alexanders birth listed as Jan. 1864 and his age is 36.

He also appears on the 1900 So. Burlington, Vt. census, with his wife, Rosa and his first 6 children.

According to Alex Blair (b. 1937) when he first came to Vermont he worked for HH. Wheeler, who ran a farm on Dorset St. He lived in the little red house on the east side of Dorset St. close to Swift St.

Then he moved to 1700 Dorset St. (Aunt Jennie's house.)

need to check into Ed's name. The S.B. town records have Edmund Alfred but previously I had Edward Arthur. His death certificate says Edward (that information was supplied by Alex)

Ed grew up on Dorset Street and eventually lived at the State Hospital. His death certificate says that he had chronic schizophrenia. According to Alex, life on the farm under Frank Blairs rule would drive any one to poor mental health. Alex became his guardian when Aunt Jennie died and Ed was going to inherit some money. He went to Birchwood Nursing Home, shortly after was hospitalized and spent the entire inheritance there. Ed was a wonderful man who never asked anything of anyone, just appreciated what he had.
